Innovate, Create and Defend
“PROJECT THUNDER”
Our Story
The Bionic Mosquito project “Thunder”, was conceived to explore a new class of high-performance vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aerial platforms that bridge aerospace and advanced automotive engineering. The platform is built around a lightweight carbon-fibre monocoque structure, quad ducted-fan propulsion, and a modular systems architecture.
Designed for high-speed point-to-point operations, the platform is intended to operate at high subsonic speeds, over extended ranges, and at altitudes comparable to light utility aircraft, while supporting substantial payloads across a wide operational envelope.
The VTOL configuration is engineered around a compact operational footprint of approximately 7 metres by 7 metres, enabling deployment from small landing pads, ship decks, and constrained environments. The design incorporates dual turboshaft propulsion, advanced flight-control systems, and an enclosed mission bay adaptable for logistics, medical, and specialist operational roles.
From the outset, the Bionic Mosquito has focused on efficiency, robustness, and flexibility—creating a VTOL platform capable of operating in demanding environments while remaining scalable and adaptable as requirements evolve.

Who We Are
Who we are
The Bionic Mosquito Limited project “Thunder”, brings together a distinctly British blend of aerospace and automotive engineering to develop advanced vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aerial platforms. Our systems combine high-performance propulsion, autonomous and remotely piloted control, and robust structural design to operate reliably in demanding environments.
Our platforms are engineered to support a wide range of mission profiles, including search and rescue, firefighting support, emergency medical evacuation, remote logistics and delivery, and specialist security operations. Each system is designed with survivability, precision, and operational resilience at its core.
Drawing on rigorous engineering practice and real-world operational insight, we design, test, and refine every element of our platforms in the United Kingdom—proudly conceived, designed, and developed in England.
